Telaga Warna is located in Tugu Village, Cisarua, Bogor which is very close to the At Ta’wun Mosque, Puncak. It takes about an hour drive from Bogor. This 5 hectare natural park is adjacented directly to the Telaga Warna Natural Reserve which has area around 268,25 hectare.
Why is it called Telaga Warna? Because, this lake has two beautiful colours. Sometimes, the surface of lake is seen like green but in the order of time, it looks like brown due to reflection of the sun.
The lake is also a home for 68 bird species, which makes it a popular location for bird watching. Species that can be found there are included Great Tit (Parus major), Mugimaki Flycatcher (Ficedula mugimaki), Common Iora (Aegithina tiphia), and Blue Nuthatch (Sitta azurea) as a regular visitor in that location. In Telaga warna, we can also find 18 herpetofauna species, 15 mammal species, and 6 dragonfly species.
When the sky is clear, sometimes, we can see the magnificent Javan Hawk-eagle spinning around the tea garden. This 60 cm bird is the representation of Burung Garuda as Indonesia’s national bird.
